For the first time in a while the Southern New England Region has a primarily all snow event. Even the south coast, Cape & Islands should stay mainly snow. Maybe a brief mix is possible.
Currently, a weak area of low pressure over the Ohio River Valley is slowly trying to organize as it moves east-northeast. The scattered rain & snow showers in the radar loop below highlight the lack of organization this system currently has.

The system will slowly better organize itself as it traverses the mid-Atlantic states and passes underneath of New England. Light snowfall breaks out over night Sunday into Monday and lasts through much of the day Monday.

Storm Progressions: 7 pm Sunday -> 1 am Tuesday – College of DuPage
Even though it snows for quite a long period Monday, it likely doesn’t amount to very much in most places. A widespread 2-3″ is likely; except for southeast Mass, Rhode Island, and the upper Cape where a bit more is possible.
When all is said and done, nothing that we can’t handle:

2-18-19 Snowfall
Looking ahead, we are in a slightly more active pattern with a mixed precipitation event in the forecast for Thursday and another system possible for Monday.
